We say about the lousy rotten folks "if they could just have used their brains doing good they'd have been successful". How do we know?

Some folks are only good at bad. That is the only "talent" they have. That's why they're bad.

    Not everyone who uses their brains doing good becomes successful.  And not everyone will have pronounced talents.  I would not judge anybody so negatively as to refer to them as "lousy rotten folks".  They have their lives to live as well.
