Good for you. I am retired...twice. Every day is a weekend, although I work a job every second weekend.

    Congrats on the new job!

I'm lucky to mostly make my own work schedule. Sometimes I choose to work on weekends, but I'm really glad I'm not forced to.

I agree. I am retired and I miss having weekends. The more time you have the more of it you squander.

Excellent philosophy. I squander mine here.

I disagree.  If I don't like my job, the weekends are hell because I have to go back.

Luckily I like my job because I work weekends.

  • Congrats on the new job.   I agree with Bye's comment - it was the same for me.  I hope it's not that way for you.

Weekends are truly pleasant when you get to have one.  My career over the years have precluded a lot of weekends because those are travel days, even when I do take some comp time.  With two young ones around the house weekends are not ours so to speak. We love our kids and love playing with them on the weekends.  It does make the glass of wine at days end taste so much better
