"Tyranny of the mob. Trolls are turning the web into a cesspool of aggression and violence. What watching them is doing to the rest of us may be even more harmful".
So do you go slumming? Do you walk on the dark side or avoid it? How could such a thing have happened? We used to have mean girls and bullies. That was it. Now we have an entire menu of crappy disgusting revolting mean ugly evil hateful people who troll various internet sites to see what damage they can do. What is wrong with our society that we tolerate/instigate/mitigate/allow this to be? Any ideas?
I do not subscribe to Time Magazine's lib agenda, nor do I subscribe to the worldview that said agenda propagates. If you read the entire article, it is an elaborate slam on Donald Trump as being born of a bunch of right-wing conspiratorial trolls on the web.
Yes, I swim in it.

I'm all over the internet...so I guess the answer is yes.
As for:
"What is wrong with our society that we tolerate/instigate/mitigate/allow this to be?"
Regardless of what you, I, or anyone else believes, we cannot have cencorship on the web. I'm paraphrasing but, "I have the right to offend and you have the right to be offended". Freedom of speech, Rosie.
You are completely missing the point here. It isn't that it is available on the internet. It is that these groups EXIST in the first place. That is what is so disturbing. I disapprove of censorship of any kind. I also disapprove of such organizations at this that are based on hate and destruction. Talk
ing about what exists isn't the problem. The fact THAT THEY EXIST is the problem. Thank you for your reply Gj.

Well...Unfortunately... I have to point to the constitution and the "Right to assemble".
These people are dispicable. I'm not convinced they number in the multitudes they claim. It's more that they are the most noisey so you are aware of them.
What do you mean turning?
The web has always been a cesspool. It's actually a lot tamer than it used to be.
Groups of like-minded people whose views are different from yours do not have a right to exist? Peaceful assembly is guaranteed by the Constitution, like it or not.
I don't mean anything. I am quoting Time Magazine. Thank you for your reply and Happy Saturday RR! :)

I am not a fan of censorship GJ. What gave you that idea? I am a proponent of free speech and all that comes with it. Do you find the degradation and viciousness of these hate groups
exhilarating/exciting/disgusting? Is perusing it worth your time? Just curious. We do choose where, how and for how long we invest our time. I value mine so I like to spend it where I will get the best ROI. Thank you for your reply and Happy Saturday! :)
I only just became aware of them because of the Time magazine article. I am very shaken. I have some questions I shall be asking vis a vis this topic. You will recognize them GJ. Thank you for your reply.

Yeppers.

LOL!
I've had my waders on since I was issued my first IP address.
Don;t let it get to you, ROsie...the more you learn, the more you will wish you never got on the internet.
This garbage has been around for a long time. Now it's more prevalent because you have better access to it. Regretfully
Never let it get to you...
That's only about an hour's drive from here. :)
Really? lol
That's an awesome name for a town. I'd love to hear feedback from the residents on their experiences regarding that name.
The depravity is part of the charm in a way.
Thank you for your reply GJ. I guess when I'm tired things get to me. I know I shouldn't let them but they do. I mean in my wildest and darkest times I could never in my life have imagined a Donald J. Trump being a viable candidate for prez of the United States nor the millions who believe he can do no wrong. That is a nightmare of historic proportion. I just hope it doesn't last...that we awaken from it and relegate to being nothing but

a horrible dream. One cannot help but contemplate the direness of the situation should Donald J. Trump actually be elected. Happy Saturday m'dear! :)
