What's your favorite Jean Claude Van Damme movie?

I'm thinking Bloodsport might really be the only right answer.

Now don't laugh too hard because they all are.
    Why? You might ask???
Because when Don first introduced me to these violent flicks I could not get his name right.
I kept saying, "Oh, it's another Vandi Kamp movie?.......
    Like the refried beans!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I know this one doesn't really utilize the kicking martial arts he's known for, but I really like Sudden Death. And I'm sure you already know this ProdigalSon, but for anyone who isn't sure, yes that's the one where he fights a woman in a penguin costume.

  • Sudden Death.....I consider that more of a Powers Boothe movie.

Good villain, classic Boothe, RIP. But yeah it's very much a outlier of the Van Damme catalog haha. I've heard that around that time he was in the worst part of his coke addiction so he was starting to lose a lot of his physical abilities. And by coke I mean pop, he was up to 4 cans a day.

  • Lol, yea as you said it wasn't martial arts but quite a few of his movies didn't always rely on that.  Timecop didn't weigh all that heavy on martial arts and I loved that movie.  Sudden Death I loved too....it's early 90's action nostalgia. Remember Double Impact when he fought himself?  Pretty good stuff.

that's where he fights Tong Po
    or whatever his name was?
    Probably his best
with all of the different styles
    of Martial Arts that
    were represented.

I don't think I've ever seen one of his movies.  I just read through the whole list.  The only thing that sounded familiar was Universal Soldier but I did not see it.

It's Bloodsport. The real Frank Dux is a fake, but we did get a really cool movie out of it.
