Isn't every family unit a COMMUNE*? Aren't all COMMUNES based on SOCIALISM**?

*COMMUNE
A small group of persons living together sharing possessions, work, income. A close-knit community of people who share common interests

**SOCIALISM
Vesting of ownership and control of the means of production and distribution of capital and land in the COMMUNity as a whole.

So we are raised in communes living a socialistic-based life and then are told to seek capitalism nationalism populism isolationism. Mixed message anyone?

No most families seldom share "common interests" but are based upon the commitment of the parents to one another and to their children.  Children who have no choice but to be part of that family. And they grow up and get their own interests and move out and start their own families.

How many real communes have you lived in?  I have lived in some and there was always, no matter what was done together or what was shared, one or two persons who put up the money and owned the land and who were ultimately responsible for things.  If they  decided they no longer wanted to play then guess what? End of commune.

Just like in a family a parent decides they no longer want to play and off they go and so circumstances change.  Which is why any system cannot be based upon a voluntary, or forced, communalism.  The individual is the basic unit and without individual commitment and individual responsibility it just does not exist.
