Discussion»Statements»Rosie's Corner» How many health problems would be avoided if people only ever ate nutritious healthy food from birth? A lot right?
Not really sweetie. Dried beans are cheap to make at home. Barley and brown rice and quinoa and many other grains are cheap to make at home. You can find excellent vegetables and fruits if you comparison shop and pay attention to sales. Sure it takes time and effort. Going through a drive-through and picking up junk is fast but not really cheap. It leads to health problems which cost money to fix. Wouldja rather spend your money on healthy food or doctor bills? You can eat very healthy very economically if you want to do so. We do! Thank you for your reply Shuhak! :)
the worst of them, probably. more so even if people ate a whole foods vegan diet. heart disease, obesity, cancer, etc. and dont argue with me cause i hate that stupid "HuMaNs ArE sUpPoSeD tO eAt MeAt" excuse.
I'm with you elon. Maybe in ancient cave-dweller times when the savages killed animals and ate them that may have been true. There were not a lot of options out there for them then. But my goodness today you can eat delicious foods in infinite variety without ever eating any meat. It does take time. You have to be interested in doing so. Maybe one day there will be drive-through health food joints. I'm gonna ask. Thank you for your reply and Happy Wednesday to thy! :)
i'm glad you agree :). ancient humans had to hunt and kill for their meat so it wasn't very often they ate it. in the modern world it's readily available and people are under the impression you need a serving of meat with every meal to make it healthy and nutricious, which isn't true. eating meat once a week probably won't do any harm but with all the meat and other animal products humans consume it's no wonder most of us are in such bad shape.
I read some unbelievable statistics about how much grain it takes to bring to market one cow. Something like two acres! That same grain could feed how many humans? We do eat meat, Jim and I. But not very often. Old habits die hard. We mostly eat veggies and whole grains and fruits and nust and seeds. If we became Vegetarians it would be no strain or struggle at all. We couldn't be Vegans happily and quickly though. We love milk products and I don't see why eating products of animals like eggs or milk harms them in any way. Ya know what? I'm going to ask. BUT if we had to become Vegans we could do that too. Thank you for your reply elon and Happy Wednesday to you m'dear! :)

a lot of dairy cows are impregnated and chained to a wall for their whole lives in order to produce milk. their calves are ripped from them soon after they're born and fed constantly, not allowed to move in order to produce veal. it's pretty much the same case with layer hens. they're kept in small dirty conditions, pumped with antibiotics so they don't get sick from living in the fecal matter and dead bodies. chickens peck each other when stressed so they usually have their beaks clipped off as well.
