We believe things we can PROVE with factual evidence. We also believe things we cannot prove but believe to be true. Why?

Because there are things we WANT to believe, we NEED to believe that comfort us. We choose to believe them. They are not forced upon us. We accept what we want and reject what we don't. Evidence/proof has nothing to do with it. Too bad though isn't? We cannot prove what we believe, have faith in and try to convince others of. Ever.

While some people need science and physical facts to determine what is real and what is not, there is tons of evidence out there to prove what does not have a "smoking gun".

That is called circumstantial evidence and for those who can discern, proves truth as factually as physical evidence.

You must consider the evidence, you must have others who have evidence of the same thing and you must not be NUTS.

    That helps.
