Even though I don't agree with his politics, I think I could get along with Mr Obama.
The others seem too strident, whenever I see them on TV. And Al Sharpton depends on race divisions (IMO) to stay "relevant".
And before the anti-Trump posters reply to my post ... No, I don't think I'd get along with him, either. I felt the same way about him before he was even a candidate. He has always (IMO) been too privileged and out of touch with working class.
Have you ever fought prejudice in your personal life directed against you or your loved ones because your skin color was not acceptable or your ethnic origin was "less than" or your religious views were off the grid or your politics was incompatible with the judges thereof? If not you can't know what it's like Walt and so for that I cannot fault you. You cannot know what you don't know. You cannot possibly relate to that which you have never experienced personally yourself. Unless you give birth you don't have a clue what it's like. I get that. So you judge others based on what you see/hear SIPERFICIALLY never once having a clue what causes them to be that way. Not your fault. It is a human flaw. SIGH. Thank you for your reply. Also and more to the point. How many young unarmed WHITE men were murdered by cops for being white?

Thousands of whites marched with MLK and supported the Civil Rights Movement. Now, all whites are being treated as if they are actively working to keep blacks oppressed. Al Sharpton should know better.
How did MLK get whites to support him? Not by blaming all whites, but by saying "we can all work together to end this injustice". People are not going to help someone who is attacking them, whether or not those attacks are justified. And that's just one symptom of where we are currently at as a society. We are more interested in maintaining divisions, than working together to fix the system.
