Parents get to control what their kids do and try to influence what they say. While they're young. Adults are on their own. EXCEPT that some folks like to control adults too. Why?

I don't get it. I guess before you say or do anything they would prefer that you pass it by them and get their permission. Why do some people like to control others? What is in it for them? A feeling that they are so important others need their approval? What is the desire to control really about?
