Well I used to date a gal who pretended not to notice that I sipped on her beer while she was in the bathroom and I thought that it was sweet. So to show my appreciation I wrote her a love poem and planned on reciting it to her when she came back from the washroom. The poem was - Roses are red - violets are blue - I sipped on your beer while you were in the loo. But by the time she got back I got cold feet and figured it was too early in the relationship for love poetry. Cheers!
I have written many letter but not really sappy love letters, even though many of them were to my boyfriend of many years. We were separated by the Atlantic for a few years. Foreign long distance telephone calls were very expensive, even for an AT&T employee. If I wrote one, I mailed it.
I wrote one once several years ago on scented paper to a man whom I secretly loved, got cold feet, and never sent it. It's still with me, and I do read it once in a while. The scent is faded, but a faint whiff of it is still there. I think it's the best love letter I've ever written to anyone.
