I don't think you can but if you do ever find a way to outwit a blood pressure reading you might get rich beyond your wildest dreams from people whose jobs are dependent on passing a physical.
The only thing I know about that works other than prescription drugs is eating healthy food. My husband used to have a problem with it but the problem went away by itself when he quit his job as a long-distance truck driver to work from home. Basically we only eat pesticide-free non-GMO foods unless we go out to eat which isn't very much.
I've also heard marijuana drops blood pressure almost instantly but that would be a whole new set of issues for those people whose jobs are dependent on passing physicals.
Thank you for your thoughtful and informative reply Liv. I take a mild diuretic for high blood pressure. There is something called "the white coat syndrome" wherein your blood pressure rises when you go to the doctor's and have your blood pressure taken. It's due to apprehension and I don't know how you can control that. I'm gonna ask. Happy Tuesday! :)
The white coat syndrome can be cured with a breathing technique. I don't know if it works for everyone but it always dropped my husband's blood pressure enough to pass his physicals.
In the case of my hubby and I we both have class A driver licenses so we need a physical every two years. Neither of us drive trucks anymore. I quit when I got pregnant and he just wanted to do his own thing but we still get the physical every other year to keep our class A licenses.
Your doctor also have a big effect on blood pressure. It'll be a lot lower if you have an easy-going doctor. If you're employed by a company they might tell you where to get your physical and some of those doctors at occupational health centers just have chips on their shoulders and they're pretty snotty. My last company sent me to one of those and my blood pressure was 130/80 which is good enough but every other time I've been to my own doctor or went to the easy-going doctor in town that does DOT physicals the top number is 100 to 110 and the bottom number is 60 to 70 so just being around Doctor Snotty did that to me.
