THIS IS SPOOKY. The weirdest thing just happened to me. Ever happen to thee? HOW?

The phone just rang and we have CALLER ID. The call was  coming from me...my landline number and my name showed! I'm at home. I didn't place a call to anyone. I answered" hello" and got a garbled sound and then nothing. What could possibly have caused that? Should I not have answered it? Did I just give someone access to something? Talk about weird this is it. Sheesh. HELP!

    Your own number had been 'spoofed' They pick random numbers in your area code to make it look like a local call. They just happened to pick yours. Someone else here said it happened to them.

    Thank you for your quick reply E. So we don't need to worry then? I told Jim about it and I just told him about your reply. We both feel a lot better. I guess they had time to kill so they did!  :(

    I asked a question about it this morning E. I called the FCC in D.C. yesterday on the advice of the repair guy at our phone company. Maybe if you read the question you will see what I experienced yesterday. Thank you for your reply and Happy  Tuesday!  :)
