Can you CHOOSE what you want to dream about? Ever wake up, go back to sleep and continue on with the same dream?

Lucid Dreaming ... yes, I can control my dreams when I realize it's a dream.
I have trained myself to recognize that when something impossible happens, I'm dreaming.

And no ... not like Steve Smith's lucid dreaming.  LOL This post was edited by Walt O'Reagun at March 9, 2019 5:27 AM MST

Only rarely have I been aware in a dream that it was a dream. There are two recurring dreams I have and have had for many years. One is about being late. I cannot stand being late. The other is about finding myself among strangers in an unknown  place without my purse. I spend the entire dream look for my purse, my keys, my car all the while knowing that even if I find them I won't know how to get home. I have no sense of direction and get disoriented very easily. I remember as a little kid I would have nightmares about being abandoned. If my parents died who would take care of me? I guess I never outgrew them. A coupla  times in the dream it flashed quickly that "oh this is THAT dream". Can you choose in advance of falling asleep what you will dream about? Thank you for your reply Walt!  :)

I do not remember my dreams so no need to control them.

My husband and one of my kids say they can control them.

Not at all? Not EVER m2c? You never woke so thankful to be in your bed in your home and not where you were in your sleep? Hm. I wonder what causes that? I'm gonna ask. Thank you for your reply and Happy Saturday!   :)
