What the RICH educationbuying cheating lying parents did TO their kids will harm more than what they did to "help" FOR their kids. What now?

They conspired to commit a felony. It was FRAUD. A slap on the wrist for so badly shaking up the entire educational system? It had better be a lot more than that or there will be he** to pay. I'm serious. All the kids who worked their butts off to get in these colleges that were part of the conspiracy and fraud and couldn't because folks like Lori Laughlin bought her two daughter access to USC which DEPRIVED two kids who deserved being there from being there. All the parents of all the kids the who played it straight. You think they are going to take this lying down? You think there won't be massive lawsuits galore up the kazoo SUING every one of the 50 who were indicted? This is just the tip. How many more evil scams are there like this in the United States? This is just one. A very big and evil and filthy and rotten one i in our backyard dagnabbit! USC nd UCLA? Oh my god. That is beyond anything I could have imagined. Sure the rich give millions to build buildings on the college campuses and put their names on them. So what? That's how they always bought their kids into colleges because their kids were second rate and couldn't get it on their own. We KNOW that..  But the intricacies these people engaged in is just mindblowing. Is this scam the only one like it? Probably NOT. So now liddle donny d is blown off the front pages because he is "just not worth it". He will devise a way to get back in the news. Blow up North Korea maybe. Thank you for your reply Sharon. I hope to he** they ALL do Walt. D'ya they photoshopped? They put their kids heads on the bodies of athletes engaged in sports and submitted that as proof their child was applying under a sport scholarship. They lied and cheated and made stuff up and bribed and forced. A regular gigantic criminal enterprise to defraud. The more I read the disgusteder I get. It is an incredible black eye. Now the entire university is not at fault here. Coaches mostly were the problem. They'd accept BRIBES to find a place for the third-rate kid who didn't have the right stuff to honestly earn a place in the college. That means the parents didn't think much of their kids in my opinion. They are all crooks. Spouses and mates and moms and dads and kids. All conspired to steal spots from the deserving. I cahn't stend it! I expect MASSIVE lawsuits. Now here's  question I'm gonna ask. Is the university response for the crimes committed by staff? If a sleazy coach cheats is it the fault of the university? Thank you for your reply! :)

Most colleges have a Board of Directors.
It will be interesting to see if they were aware of the fraud ... or if they will also hold those involved responsible.  EG: firing without benefits.

Have been such lawsuits in the past and continue to be.  Like the one where the parents of kids took Harvard to court for choosing to accept "minority" students instead of their kids.  Colleges that are private institutions can do what they want of think is best. I really have no idea why is so important for some parents that their kids get into particular schools - not sure why it matters that much. Lawsuits only destroy which is perhaps the intention - I can't have it my way so I will try and destroy them.

If the college violates it's own rules, they open themselves to lawsuits by people "harmed" by that action.

Rich people bribing college coaches, paying for fake test scores etc to get their kids in ivy league colleges. Kids who could not have gotten in otherwise. 
No a new thing but the first time it has been provable.

A couple is Hollywood actresses. One from Full House (Aunt Becky) and When Calls the Heart (Hallmark channel) and the other on Desperate Housewives. 

They are about a dozen now but could be 750 if they go back far enough. 

My brothers went to Princeton and Yale in the 1970s and doubt my father ever bribed any coaches or paid for any fake test scores (not sure how one would do that) but he did make contributions to both colleges I am sure.  Which I called one of my brothers and he thinks that is true as well.  Which in those days was pretty much expected.  And was not illegal in any way.  A big part of running any college is fund raising.  Ivy league was a big thing back then but I can't see that it still is at all.  Why was that so important for those actresses that their kids go there?   Seems very strange that they would do all that just for something so silly.  Kids go to any colleges and some of them learn something and many do not. And sometimes may learn something that will help them in life and lots of the time will not learn anything that will help them in life. 

I see that happening. Especially the sports kids who got replaced by kids that never even played. 

That, m'dear, is an understatement to be sure. This education scam is horrendous and I hope a zillion lawsuits are filed. Against whom I don't know. I mean mostly it was the coaches who were the cirminals. Is the university responsible for what its staff does that is underhanded? I'm gonna ask. What kind of parent guides kids in this manner?  To lie, cheat and steal their way to success?  No WONDER you think Trump is a good guy.  You are just like him.

Breaking what law?  The law against helping your kids get an education?   Where did that come from? Kids are now supposed to do it all on their own?   Not sure what that has to do with Pres. Trump.

You know I am not going to click on any links. If you have something you want me to know you can write it like anyone would.  My understanding was she was complaining (as usual) about how "bad" and "corrupt" rich people are who may well have worked all their lives just so they could be able to help their kids out.  As my father helped my brothers who went to Yale and Princeton and I am sure he made contributions to those colleges. Just as he helped them with his connections and some funds to set up their own businesses both of which became very successful and one of which was in direct competition with my father's company.  And just as my husband's father helped him at first though he went into an entirely different field.  All of which I see as natural. OK so they did not help me but they would have if I had been doing anything they considered respectable or where they thought they could help but I was too proud to take any help.  Though I later learned to do well on my own but it was partly based upon things I learned from them just by osmosis growing up that I never even considered until I could put them into practice until I did.  When envy and resentment so become our driving forces that we want to legislate and  criminalize out of existence all that is basic and natural we set ourselves on a fool's errand that ends up only with our shooting ourselves in the foot to save our dignity.  Crazy.
