Being cheered is seductively addictive/addictively seductive. The more you get the more you need the more outrageous the deed. Ever been?

Ever been what? CHEERED!

When you know you are the center of attention and CRAVE it you keep trying to outdo outsay what you outdood outsayed priorly. You go bigger and wider and taller and deeper and downer. Is there an end to what you won't do for the attention?  Silly question. Proof of pudding in eating.

Everyone likes to receive praise.  Even the most solitary person likes a little bit of cheering once in a while.  It makes one feel good inside.  In fact, without praise people sink into depression and loneliness.  Of course, like with anything, to much can be damaging.

Most people don't crave praise.  When they get it, they humbly accept it and move on.  Some people thrive on praise.  To them it's like a drug.  Soon they become addicted to that "drug".  A little bit isn't good enough, they have to have more and more.  They thrive on flattery - whether it's sincere or not.  Some will go as far as to invent false situations just so they can receive glory.  Some will even pay others just to stand around and praise them.
