It makes no sense. A man who insists upon knowing everything deciding everything his entire adult life becomes prez and then goes dumb?

Dozens of times when asked about anything Don sez "I don't know anything about it". So how does that compute? Is there an OFF switch to someone who is obsessive about being in control and making all decisions that just lets it go? Seriously?
