Are you brave enough to tell people how what they say/do makes you "feel" or do you suck it up and swallow it so you don't make waves?

I'm very outspoken.  Everyone knows how I feel and what I stand for.  I don't take any crap from anybody.

But I did not get this way by being 15.  I had to grow and be tormented for years with women surrounding me that had no clue what the ME TOO movement was.  I was a scrapper verbally my whole life. I cannot TELL you how many times I have been fired or walked out of a job because I opened my mouth.  I DON'T PUT UP WITH ANYTHING.

However, if my career and my home and my life were on the line? That is a different matter.  I would have to see what the situation was and what I would stand to lose if I fought a battle that maybe I could not win.

Look at Kathy Griffin.  She posted a picture of Trump with ketchup on it and he and his base went after her so badly she lost everything.  Hundreds of thousands of dollars in revenue.  Her shows were cancelled.  She lost her spot with Anderson Cooper for New Year's.  And while she was enduring it, she said she would NEVER have put herself into this battle had she known.

Now the truth comes out about this PIG from HELL and she is back touring in Europe and making a brand new career BLASTING TRUMP with audiences that can appreciate her.

So?  I pick my battles. If I have to give up my life and the quality of it for some CAUSE... IT HAD BETTER BE A HUGE CAUSE.

Someone needs to have gotten killed or something in front of me.  I cannot fight the good fight alone.  Don't have the time or the money

Thank you for your thoughtful answer Sharon. In the end we are all alone. We have to figure things out alone. All the guidance and advice in the world won't matter. We experience and if we are lucky we LEARN from i t and don't repeat it. Even the smartest among us get fooled. The smarter you become the less often that occurs. All we can do is our best and that varies dramatically among us. Our lives vary. Our end doesn't. In-between is all that matters because in-between is all ya got. :)

If it needs saying, I'll say it.  But I don't go around making a point of every little thing.  If I went around telling people how every last thing they do makes me feel, I wouldn't get anything accomplished.  I find many things people do to be "stupid" (and I'm sure they think the same about me).  So I try to make allowances for other peoples "stupidity" as I hope they make allowances for mine.  Life's too short to be petty.

Thank you for your thoughtful reply Shuhak. I'd rather avoid/ignore/ sidestep those whom I know have nothing positive to contribute. So I do. The first thing I do each morning when I arrive on Answermug is to go through the list of respondents and DELETE the ones I have no wish to spend any time with at all. I do not read what they have to say since I already know they showed up to be disruptive insulting hostile. Who needs that crap? Then I begin responding to those whom I know are not timewasters. I think if everything everyone says or does bothers you there is something wrong with you. You learn to just brush off or avoid timewasters. What it boils down to is are you honest with others about how you feel? The "others" who mean something to you on whatever level? If someone here about whom I care hurts my feelings I call them on it. Let them know I didn't appreciate it. Why? Because you learn whom you can trust and whom you can't and when someone you trusted turns on you even for a moment it hurts. So I say what I have to say and then move on. I leave it entirely up  to them to respond as they wish and in that response I know whether that relationship is still good or gone. Thank you for your reply! :)
