I guess I either forgot or did not know you're a vegetarian Sharon. Never liked barbecue sauce. Don't really like regular pasta sauce. I make my own...pasta primavera...with fresh tomatoes and other veggies. That bottled stuff? Not my cuppa tea. Thank you for your reply and Happy Wednesday! :)
I think the sauce kills the taste. You might as well just drink the sauced and eliminate the meat. Thank you for your reply m2c and Happy Wednesday to thee! :)
It adds flavor. Meat by itself with no flavor does not taste good. Dry Rub does the same thing adds flavor. I simply prefer the sauce. I often make my own. People are either sauce people or not.
I prefer just a little pepper. I want to taste the meat ... not what somebody thinks the meat should taste like. Put the sauce on the side. If I want my meat to taste like {whatever the sauce base is}, I will add it myself.
Though there is this little Mexican taquerito restaurant in town ... they cook the meat with the onions and peppers, and you can taste everything in every bite. It's the only place I've actually tasted caramelized onions - instead of burnt onions - including high-priced, fancy-schmancy, 5-star restaurants.
EXACTAMUNDO Walt! Precisely! Bingo! Might as well just drink the sauce and eliminate the meat. You're not gonna be able to taste it. Chili's Restaurant had this really amazing DRY RUB rib which they discontinued a few years ago. But an Answermugger who llives on the east coast said yesterday he thinks they brought it back. I'm gonna check with our local Chili's today and see. I could eat an entire rack of ribs ALONE! Nothing else needed. No side dishes!. Just that! SO GOOD! As for pasta sauce I make my own with fresh tomatoes. The bottled stuff is a bit much! Thank you for your reply and Happy Wednesday to thy! :)
