YES. A brother. Went AWOL from the Marines at 19, came home and broke into a house. Did 18 months in prison. His life went downhill from there and he never recovered. Drugs, alcohol, homelessness and lots of jail time. We tried to help him for years. He died three years ago at 60.

He had a couple of apartments here, but he said he would rather be homeless.

He did do one good thing. A few years before he died, he was the one who found a suitcase full of puppies and called the authorities. He stuck around until they got there. It made national news.

He probably did a lot more than one good thing E. It's just that he never told you about them. He saved their lives. That's a lot more than most of us can say. I'm gonna ask. It's important. Thank you for your reply!  :)

I've heard that some prefer to be on the street.

He did. We tried to give him nicer clothing, but he said if he wore them he would not make as much money panhandleing. Pathetic.

Condolences retroactively on the loss of your brother  E. But he clearly had some severe MENTAL issues. Perhaps in the Marines he saw something that sent him over the edge. Maybe he was not cut out for military service. Was he ever evaluated mentally? There were so many strikes against him. I feel very bad for him and for your family. I was thinking more in terms of selfish brats who think the world owes them everything and they expect others to take care of them. I did not have in mind someone like your brother. Thank you for your reply and Happy Sunday. I thought of a question I have to ask.

As a question, that makes absolutely NO grammatical sense.

All it needs is a comma after "does."
