An interesting sidenote. As a result of that conflict,  a treaty which states that the US was not founded on Christianity was signed.  Article 11 of the Treaty of Tripoli states:

"As the Government of the United States of America is not, in any sense, founded on the Christian religion; as it has in itself no character of enmity against the laws, religion, or tranquillity, of Musselmen; and as the said States never have entered into any war or act of hostility against any Mehomitan nation, it is declared by the parties that no pretext arising from religious opinions shall ever produce an interruption of the harmony existing between the two countries."

Yes Bush invaded Iraq. We (the world not just USA) believed Saddam had nuclear WMD. Why? Because Saddam wanted the world, particularly Iran, to believe he had them. Yes former Saddam officials joined with Al Quads in Iraq. Renaming themselves Islamic State in Iraq and Syria. After the surge in 2007, Bush had them basically defeated. Remember Obama referred to them as the JV team. But after our pull out and the war in Syria the gained major territory claiming a Islamic Caliphate and calling for Muslim loyalty worldwide. So is Obama a co-founder of the Caliphate?

Where did I say USA was founded as a Christian nation? We were not... because our government is not to interfere with the Church. But make no mistake We were founded by religious people. Who did not want a First Baptist Church of the USA. That is too much power and would lead to corruption. There way too many quotes from our founders about gov, religion and the Bible to even attempt to deny the fact.
