I don't hold a bias against "old white guys" as you do, being that I'm one myself. Truth is, there's not one thin dime's difference between the two. It sorta lends credence to the adage: "There's no fool like an old fool", and if they think they have me fooled, they're fooling themselves.
I refuse to vote "the lesser of two evils". Whether a candidate can win or not is not the point of voting. The point is to vote for the person who best represents your beliefs. I have seldom found a candidate from the Democrats or Republicans that did so ... especially when taking historic evidence in account.
Bernie is angry and strident. I'd like calm soft-spoken and coherently intelligent. Not that Bernie isn't smart. It's just that his manner is very offputting to me personally. I know he is the darling of many . I'm not among them! Of course if either one is my only condon antidon choice I'll vote for that person. I always do vote. I'd like this time to be like the time I voted for Barack Obama though or JFK. Once more in my lifetime I'd like to feel that same way about a presidential candidate! :) Thank you for your reply Walt! :)
I know what I am saying. And I am saying this is the most dangerous razor we can walk upon at present.
We stand on the brink of total disaster and PROGRESS AND PROGRESSIVES ARE TOO DANGEROUS TO PUT IN OFFICE YET. No one is going to vote for Pete Buttigieg and think he can win against TRUMP. It is too dangerous. People are going to revolt and they won't vote for him.
I love Mayor Pete. It is NOT his time. This is a FIGHT FOR OUR LIVES not a FIGHT FOR OUR FAVORITE and I am going with whomever can beat Trump and Biden is the winner so far.
If he wins, I will love it. If Bernie wins? Well I would die of happiness but Bernie is not as big a shoo-in as Biden is. Biden has a universal appeal and I think he can pave the way for a Buttigieg in the next election in 2424 or whenever. We need to make SURE that no GOP moron gets in and certainly NOT Donald Trump. NO GOP. NO ONE can enter the OVAL right now. It is WAY too much for me to watch. That is almost as bad as Trump himself. Because all of this filth that they caused, they will try and brush under the rug. We need a Democrat that does not scare repentant Republicans and a leader that does not threaten the GOP as much as a Bernie Sanders would.
It is just not the time just yet for a Progressive. I can wait a few more years. At least we will be Trump free and Joe Biden is mostly a swell guy.
I'm gonna tell you what I told Walt Sharon. Twice in my lifetime I was so happy with the choice I had for prez. The first was JFK. The second was Barack Obama. Just once more before I die I want to feel that same way about a prez candidate. Biden or Bernie won't cut it. Neither will Elizabeth Warren though I admire her greatly. She is too old. I like Kamala Harris and of course Mayor Pete and there are others I like too. California's Eric Swawell is a good guy. I'd gonna listen to all the others and see who excites me. Old guard doesn't.
