I guess if you are such a hated figure like a KKK Leader, or Kim Jong Un or some loser who has nothing to gain by not having someone ANYONE to back them, like Steven Miller. Imagine that cretin ever getting a job in any office anywhere without Trump's favoring him. But, I digress....
If Obama backs you, then you are strengthened. If Trump backs you, then you are probably going to jail.
Biden said he asked President Obama to not endorse him. He wants whomever it is that wins to win on his/her own merits. Admirable if true. Thank you for your reply Sharon! :)
I think it is weird. Knowing Obama, he may think that endorsing Biden might decrease Biden's chances. He may be saying that to us. I don't think he would turn his back on his friend. Or someone he claims to admire.
I wouldn't endorse someone just because they were in a certain political party.
I might endorse the person I thought would best serve the national interests, but probably not any Democrat or Republican. They too often put Party first.
I am a Progressice Liberal without a party. I'm not sure what the he** is going on with all the factions inside the so-called "Dem" party but I don't want any part of it. SIGH. Thank you for your reply Walt :)
A former president has a few options. He can be critical of the VP he chose, which speaks volumes about the judgement of the man that held the top office. He can say nothing and fuel speculation as to why. or he can choose the worst option and damn his former partner by faint praise. Or, the former president can enthusiastically praise the work and efforts of his partner. If a former VP can generate excitement and interest on his own, it doesn't much matter. If we're talking about Joe Biden, I don't think he can stir that kind of response.
