Ever have a boss who ORDERED YOU to boycott something? Did you? Would you?

A very humorless and insecure guy ordered his staff to boycott a dinner...an annual dinner. I dunno if they rolled over, whimpered, cried and complied or told him to stick it where the don't shine and attended.
I hope the latter!

No, I’ve never submitted to tyrannical decrees.

I do believe one still has the right to support whatever legal cause one chooses, right?

This is still America, right DB? Last time I looked it was. But methinks his peeps are so terrified of him they dare not defy him. No job is worth that but then money has never been my carrot so I have been able to be independent from that lure. I speak up. If things don't change I leave. Period. That's the way I roll.   I don't see any value to living a life based on someone's idiosyncracies eccentricities or wackadoodle political/religions views. Thank you for your reply and Happy Sunday to thee! :)

No,m I have never worked for anyone that issued decrees like that.  I think you're correct in your assertion that they are afraid of him.  Perhaps it isn't easy to get another job in D.C. like the ones they have.  For me, it was always easy to find work, so I wouldn't have had to put up with such a boss.

Me too neither. I've read of real jacka**es who made their employees contribute to a political campaign! Yep they are desperate I guess. Both the orderer who knows his side will lose unless they cheat and those who do as they're told because they don't want to lose their jobs. SIGH. Thank you for your reply L! :)
