"Thou shalt have no other gods before me". You're not supposed to worship FALSE IDOLS either. Are other religions like Christianity?

Do they demand the same things of their followers? Or is Christianity unique in that regard?

     I think its unique.

It's a slap in the face of a loving creator to worship (bow down to) the created instead of the Creator.

I am the Lord thy GOD.  Thou shalt not worship strange gods before me.

That is not what you said.  This is about worshipping false idols instead of GOD.  This was about worshipping statues instead of GOD.

That is what this was about.  Not about other religions.

GOD IS GOD and you can call him Jaweh, Jesus, Allah, Krishna, Buddha, or ANYTHING at all. Just know GOD is the SOURCE of everything and there can be ONLY ONE SOURCE.

That is all it means.  You are selling yourself short if you are worshipping a false idol.  Back then the ignorant WERE that ignorant.
