The prodon trumpican majority Senate will NEVER VOTE TO IMPEACH their prez. So what's the point in the House even trying it?

Unless and until the Senate is majority Dem it will be a hopeless thankless meaningless expensive exercise into futility.  Right?

A few of them might, in the interests of being re-elected. If Trump continues to buck the subpoenas, he goes down for contempt - and R senators that vote to acquit go down with him.
Of course, they can always invoke Section IV of the 25th. He's clearly unfit to discharge the duties of his office. "I'm f**ked! This is the end of my Presidency!" (That's a direct quote from His Royal Orangeness).

From your lips to GOD'S ears m'dear. You really think there is a tiny chance of THAT EVER HAPPENING? How does he go down for contempt when he owns the AG and the entire justice system R? I think the toady sycophants are terrified of his rage and his propensity to destroy all opposition. I don't think there is a collective backbone if you were to combine all their spines together much less separately in any of them. I hope you're right and I'm dead wrong!  Thank you for your hopeful reply. I'm gonna try to believe you m'dear. Real hard. Didja read my question about Frasier Anning? Wow! Condolences!   :) This post was edited by RosieG at May 3, 2019 5:35 AM MDT

Will never get 20 Rep Senators to vote to remove President Trump....never gonna happen.

Also, you left out the phrase that explains the "I'm f***" statement. “Everyone tells me if you get one of these independent counsels it ruins your presidency. It takes years and years and I won’t be able to do anything. This is the worst thing that ever happened to me.”

It was about President Trump thinking he would not be able to get anything passed.....Just imagine how much better we would be without the how special counsel.....we are great now but how much greater could we be???

Never gonna happen. But please, try. It will guarantee re-election for President Trump.

  • I wholeheartedly agree. Even with the six GOP defections on every vote, they'll never get the sixty votes required for a conviction. The president needs to do the job and let these people take care of their own self destruction.

True they will never have the votes....the requirement is 2/3= 67 not 60.

The people happens to be YOU in case you didn't get that part.  You are part of the PEOPLE.  You are not a part of TRUMP's elite pick of fall guys who would go to jail for him.  Therefore, YOU are speaking the same language as I AM and he has to GO.

    NOW.  WAKE THE HECK UP?

You know how TRUMP bragged about being able to shoot someone on the Streets of NEW YORK?

He could try ANYTHING at ALL and he won't get elected again.  Even if he actually DID SOMETHING POSITIVE FOR A CHANGE.

NO WAY.  Unless Russia gets involved again.  He is gone with the wind. WE ARE ALL SICK OF IT.

If he shoots someone then we can talk....

Yes, I am part of We the People....and I am happy. I am not elite. I am a small blue collar working business owner. And business is great. Thanks to President Trump.

I cannot talk to you about anything.  You do not hear, you do not listen.  Business is NOT great thanks to anyone but you.

And your vivid imagination.  MY POINT which you did not get?  Was that he could do ANYTHI(NG positive, exactly the opposite of shooting someone and NEVER have a chance in hell of getting elected again.  NOT legitimately.

I know I was doing the same things and it was a struggle. People did not have the money spend.  The could not buy the products.  My prices have not decreased....and they can buy now???

It is not, and it should not be possible, to remove a president from office because he or his policies are disliked. If and when there is indisputable evidence of crimes, only then is impeachment appropriate and it should not be a partisan decision to proceed, nor should the votes for or against removal from office be along party lines. In addition, the 25th amendment (to respond to a previous post) is not intended to be invoked when some people don't think think the president is doing his job the way they like. Whether or not we are happy with the election results,  the most effective and most fair way to remove a president from office is to vote him out in the next election.
