Twice a year...April and October...California issues CLIMATE CREDITS for both gas and electric usage. Does your state do likewise?

The Gas climate credit was $50.23 so we paid $ 7.06!

The Electric climate credit was $33.000 so we paid $29.28

Nice thing to look forward to twice a year for Californians.

Nope.  I don't care about the utility bills.  I care about the property bills.  I have to pay an association fee every month of $130.  It keeps going up and we have no say so of course.

I don't pay that much in water and electricity.  I don't have a gas bill.

People are moving out of California in droves as a rule because the taxes are so high.  When I lived in Florida, rich people were all moving there because the property taxes in Cali were so high.

Thank you for your reply. Rich people are notorious cheapskates. Us poor folk aren't.

I like it. Nice to see a low PG&E bill now and then      However, due to PG&E's incompetence, they're jacking up the rates in order to pay for all the fires they caused (but are still giving out employee bonus ... even though they've filed for bankruptcy).  That means this October the credit will make less of a dent in my bill.
I'll need that credit because as of May 1 they are jacking up our water rates ... 100% over 5 years.  Not that they're going broke, but because their surplus dipped below $1.5 billion.  Seems that to many people saved too much water during the drought (we saved, so we pay).

I feel for you.  :( :(.  It is very sad. :(:(.
We heard that on the news the other day.  Not as you put it but we figured out something like 23,000 dollars per highly paid executives were still getting bonuses.  PG&E really needs to reevaluate their priorities.
If it weren't for the customers, they wouldn't have a company.  They must have a monopoly on the users and the market.  It is really sad and I am truly sorry. :(:(.

They claim the bonuses are "safety bonuses" and will only go to low-level employees (no upper level managers).

They pocketed billions over the past several decades, while spending as little as possible on infrastructure.  There's a large heavily wooded park next door to me with PG&E transmission lines going through it.  In the past 50 years PG&E "trimmed" at a few of the  largest trees nearest the  lines a grand total of 2 times.   Now that the state is holding them accountable, they've cleared everything out within 100 yards of those lines.  Many of the trees they took out were well over 100 years old.  They're doing this all over the county.  Better late than never?   The town of Paradise is... was ... not far from here, and folks here are terrified of another large fire.

We have Southern California Edison that supplies our electricity Shuhak and Southern California Gas Co. that supplies our gas. Are they both supplied by PG&E or only you who live in northern California? We are billed for water and sewer usage by the City of Hemet. Are they dependent upon PG&E too? SIGH. Thank you for your reply! :)

PG&E supplies both gas and electricity here (although there is another gas supplier, you're still billed by PG&E).
In this area, all surface water is owned by NID (Nevada Irrigation District) - including all lakes and reservoirs (natural or man-made).  Quite a few homes rely on well water as NID can't service them (too far away from their pipes and canals).  Some larger parcels (non-NID served) have ponds that stores rainwater or water from underground springs, which the homeowners can use for outdoor watering during the summer.

Sewer service is only available within city limits, the rest of us have on-site septic tanks.

California is the only state I know that has seasonal gas.  I've always found it rather odd since we don't really have seasons.  It more like a fashion statement and just as ridiculous.
The sadder of sad fact is, we can SEE the oil being drilled right off the coast, yet are cost is one of the highest.
I don't reak any benefits from it and Don drives an hour and a half to work every day. I find the whole affair appalling.

"Seasonal; gas" is (supposedly) due to our "tough environmental standards".  They have to "reformulate" the gas each spring so that it meets these standards.  But in the winter they relax the standards (no pollution in the winter??).  Oil refineries claim that this costs them more money (and oil companies aren't going to let go of a diem more than they absolutely have to).  Only the refineries instate will "make" these "blends".
Of the 12 refineries in california that make "seasonal gas - 5 don't), nearly half of them seen to be "shut down for Maintenance" at the time  when the "new fuels" must come out (coincidence?). There are (supposedly) refineries outside of the state that can produce "california gasoline"  - domestic sources include refineries located in Washington State and the US Gulf Coast. Foreign sources include Eastern Canada, Finland, Germany, US Virgin Islands, Middle East, and Asia.

If there's ANY hint of a problem with oil ANYWHERE in the world (Canada loses a hockey game, a Saudi prince gets a hangnail, or a refinery worker in Venezuela catches the flu) gas prices instantly go up (and oil companies rake in billions).  We (supposedly) have so much oil in the US that trump is exporting it (and oil companies rake in billions).

Excellent points!  Thank you for sharing and educating me a little further.
Have a great day.  Oh, it's raining here today.  I can't believe I'm going to say this... but, YeaAAA!!  We always need it down here and it's good for the flowers.  :) :)

Once upon a time long ago we had a very strong EPA in California and I believe our air became cleaner because of it. But of course politicians gutted it though California is trying hard to keep up its standards despite the difficulties being thrown at it by Washington, D.C. anti-climate goons. In Hemet our air is cleaner than the air we had when we lived in Riverside. Thank you for your reply Merlin and Happy Saturday. I am always pleased to get the credits. I don't know if we will always get them so I just appreciate as I go along!  :)

You're welcome Rosie.  And thank you, also for clearing up some of the "smog" in my head about the whole situation.  Big winks and smiles!
I hope we still get the credits.  It is inspirational to me to know people have read what I write and comment on how I feel.  I wish you all happy days, even when I'm not here.  Talk to you sooner than later, I hope.  Until then, Take Care!
    Love, Merlin :) :)

If they do I don't know about it.  They are always complaining that we use too much electricity.

My state does not do that.
Our electric fee per kw does go down in the winter.
