Discussion»Statements»Rosie's Corner» Do you and your mate share eveything fair and square? Or does one of you always give more, do more, go the extra mile?
I do the cooking, laundry, ironing, most of the cleaning, some of the yard, and the garden, and work. My husband works, does some of the cleaning, some of the yard, and makes the major decisions. We both shovel snow. We have a joint account as well as separate accounts. Which is fair and square to me.
In our house we do what we're best at doing. For example I break things (not on purpose..at least I don't think so) and my Jim repairs them. I'm a retired internal auditor so I pay the bills and reconcile our bank accounts. I cook and kinda take care of the inside of the house but he is a great helper to me and I don't ever have to ask. He will load the dishwasher or vacuum without my having to ask. He pretty much takes care of the car and the outside yard work. He also is the athlete in the family and plays tennis and golf. Me? I'm a homebody. My favorite place in the whole wide world is home. I am the one on the computer most. I LOVE to go food shopping and I adore cooking. I play a game on the computer offline called BESPELLED which is like Scrabble to which I am addicted . Jim reads a lot more than since I do I've had surgery on both eyes so reading is less pleasurable for me. We have our favorite TV shows. He likes golf and tennis and other instructional shows whereas I'm more into the science or history channels and I love old movies. Thank you for your nifty reply sb. So now I kinda know you a little better! :)
Are you really one of those people who is always dropping things? Then good to be with who you are! My husband's company takes so much of his time he is not available every day except at meal times. Whereas I work for a corporation and I seldom have to take my work home with me so my eves and weekends are mine. Guess we are not very athletic at all. But we like taking walks in rural places. I hitched and traveled around the country - and occasionally to other countries when I was young. But now like you I am most comfortable at home. Though I do get out as I have many responsibilities outside our home. My husband loves opera and on TV Cops and Live PD! I do like history programs as well but also shoes such as Project Runway used to be. And cooking programs. New Scandinavian Cooking is my fave. Never played any computer games. Perhaps because I sit at two of them at work all day. Though I guess one could consider being here on AM a computer game!
