A tit for a tat, that’s what they say;
Everything fair, yes, that’s the way.
Not race nor color; not creed nor gender,
From justice receiving ne’er should hinder.
Not wealth or fame shall affect how one’s treated;
Nor where they’re schooled, or where they are seated
Preferential treatment? That’s just not fair,
Everyone must pay or do their fair share.
But a garden of roses was promised to none;
Nor getting to finish what we have begun
So as we go on we should never despair,
That one bitter fact - life will never be fair
