Folks will usually vote for a NATIVE SON* for prez. In California in 2020 we may have the privilege of voting for a NATIVE DAUGHTER! Rocks?

*Native Son is a pol from YOUR home state. Not voting for him would be a BIGLY slap in the face!

  • There are those who readily fall into that favorite son trap. Then, there are those that are just too smart to fall for it. We had that situation in Georgia in 1976 and 1980. I voted against the local favorite on both occasions and never regretted it. The 39th president was the main reason we became a red state.

I never had a chance before to VOTE FOR A FAVORITE DAUGHTER. As a Californian and a PROGRESSIVE  LIBERAL I like our Senator Kamala Harris. I liked her when she was our ATTORNEY GENERAL. She is one SMART DAME who made mincemeat out of the chickenmanbillybarrROYCOHN! He could not/would not answer simple questions though she kept giving him options. He humiliated himself. He is NO MATCH for intelligent questioning. He isn't. He is there to protect the sb prez who is also unintelligent. Birds of a feather. I also like Mayor Pete. I'm gonna listen to all of them but I know this. At 81 I DON"T WANT ANOTHER OLD WHITE MAN in charge. So sue me! Thank you for your reply SC and Happy Tuesday to thee! :) This post was edited by RosieG at May 7, 2019 12:17 PM MDT

Obama was from my home state....and did not vote for him.
Most of the people I know from IL regret their original vote for him cause he was not a help to IL.

I don't vote "native" (or gender for that matter).  I vote for the person I believe can/will do the best job - regardless which state they come from.

I assume you're referring to Kamala Harris.  Personally, I don't think much of her (another "richie rich").  She's going to have to "earn" my vote.

We disagree. I liked her as our ATTORNEY GENERAL which she was before she ran for the Senate which as a Californian you already know. I ADORE HER as our Senator. She has already massively distinguished herself by her questioning. You cannot beat intelligence that is focused on getting answers. She totally humiliated the chickenmanbillybarrROYCOHN by asking politely very simple questions which he could not answer. His inept impotent inadequate non-responses were shocking. He didn't even almost pretend to be responsive. That may not impress you Shuhak but it sure as he** impresses me. I hope you are not one of those men congenitally incapable of supporting a woman to LEAD your country. You aren't, are you? What woman could you support in that role if not Kamala Harris? I also like Mayor Pete bigly. He speaks MANY LANGUAGES, is a RHODES SCHOLAR, served his country patriotically in the military and has political experience as mayor. He is still in his 30's! Potential is awesome. Others? Not the old folks. Not Bernie or Biden or Elizabeth Warren. Too long in the tooth for me! OK. We'll see what choice we have. Thank you for your reply! :) This post was edited by RosieG at May 7, 2019 12:26 PM MDT

I voted for her as Attorney General.  However, being president is a tough job and I want to know for sure someone can do the job before I vote for them.  The clown we have now sure can't! (and I didn't vote for him - primary or general election!)

I don't vote gender!  A woman can be just as good of a leader as a man.  However, I will never vote for someone (for any office) simply because of their gender.

You don't VOTE FOR gender. Ever vote against it Shuhak? I think males in general have a really hard time if they have a WOMAN boss. I wonder if gals prefer a guy boss too? I'm gonna ask. Thank you for your reply! :) This post was edited by RosieG at May 8, 2019 4:05 AM MDT

A I said, I vote for whoever I think will be able to do the best job.  If, in my mind, one's gender will hinder their ability to do the job then I won't vote for them - be they male or female.  (I don't vote party either)

Actually, I prefer female bosses.  In fact, I had more female bosses during my career than male ones.  While most were excellent bosses, a few weren't.

All well and good, but her chance of actually winning is negligible.
