It's funny the things we remember. When I was three we lived in Michigan. Our family doctor made housecalls. Honestly. Did yours?

I remember his name. Not sure of the spelling but it was Heidenrock! Dr. Heidenrock. When did doctors stop making housecalls? I guess many of you don't even know what I'm talking about. Anyway when I broke my ankle at age 3 he put a cast on it. When I had my tonsils removed he was the one who did it. A generalist not  specialist. If I'd needed heart surgery I don't know if he could have done that. But what we needed from a family doctor he provided.

    Good ol' doc Schneider. He made house calls and didn't charge anything If you couldn't pay.

    I had never heard of a house all for Drs. Until a few years back, I was watching a rerun of "One Day at a Time" and they weree having trouble finding a Dr for one of the girls.

    I was born in 1937 m'dear and that was how it was done back then. I almost remember what he looked like too. I can't remember what I had for  breakfast last week on Wednesday but I remember him all the way back to 1940! Go figger! Of course there were fewer people then.
