Note that the jury ignored the LEGAL, LAWFUL orders of the judges - and found the defendant "not guilty".
Note that I recognize there is a difference between ignoring laws because they are unjust - and just because you dislike them. I also recognize there are many laws which have little to do with justice, such as public safety laws.
You abide by the laws. You don't break them. If they are legal and unjust you seek to change them. That is why people gather together to protest things Walt. The right to CHANGE unjust laws not the right to BREAK them. Unless you are a lawless sb prez of course and then you simply ignore all laws you dislike! SIGH. Thank you for your reply! :)
Except one way to protest a law is to blatantly break it - and force government to either enforce it (giving you an opportunity to argue it in court), or to ignore the lawbreaking.
I'm betting millions of people break laws, daily. How many laws are still on the books that aren't enforced? I'm thinking those old laws from when automobiles were "new fangled".
Thank you for your thoughtful reply tom. Civil disobedience is an important thing in our country. It is anathema to the current sb prez. He supports and exmplies UNCIVIL disobedience but he has a lock on it and we are not allowed to call him on it. He is the best example we shall ever have of the very worst in homo saps. I suppose that is a benefit. I shall ask. Happy Wednesday! :)
