Thinking is HARD WORK which requires time effort energy and a certain dedication to follow facts and not settling for less. How many do it?

How many are too LAZY to bother and happily cede it to others who will instruct them about what to think what to feel what to say how to act how to react 24/7? Follow the yellow brick road. Paint by the numbers. Trace copycat repeat repeat repeat repeat repeat. Robots and automatons and parrots do that effortlessly.  Spend your days otherwise and live the good life! Sigh. Did any of you who do that read the fine print? Did you even bother to find your glasses put them on and read what you agreed to agree to before you signed your autonomy and independence away for others to control?

Humans are like electricity - they tend to take the course of least resistance.

We all want to "simplify" our lives.  Let a robot clean our homes, a self driving car take us wherever we want to go, have our smart houses turn on and off the lights, plan our days, cook our meals, and reorder food from Amazon as needed (shipped right to out door where a robot picks it up and puts it away)  - all from the comfort of a chair or bed ("Alexa, do such-and-such".  Our "smartphones" have already made our lives simpler (or have they?).  Few people can even imagine life without their precious smartphone?
Who needs glasses?  "Siri, read this to me".  Who's got time to read a 52-page contract?  What are we, lawyers?  ("Alexa, sign that contract for my new self-driving car").

Imagination is effort as well.  lets remake old movies and TV shows instead of coming up with new ones.  Let's make movies out of comic books instead of thinking up new material.

Let's just sit back and take it easy.

Scary as he** ain't it? Smart machines frighten me. They will take over the world one day and they are well on their way to crippling humans and removing their will to do for themselves. A smart house is terrifying to me. What if it turns on me and kills me with its power? There was a scifi story about a rogue robot..evil as can be...and the havoc it created for homo saps There was also a Twilight Zone in which all the electric thingies in a house TURNED ON THE GUY who had abused them and killed him! Not impossible to imagine! We don't have a smart phone. We have a smart TV but it isn't THAT smart and it doesn't think for me or threaten me or control my life or do for me what I should do for myself on my own alone. An automatic car would not be my cuppa tea. I need to be IN CONTROL rather than have an inanimate object, no matter how "intelligent",  be in charge. I am not a lazy bum. I like to do things for myself as much as is possible. I love to cook. No ordering prepared foods that others create. I also LOVE TO THINK AND FIGURE THINGS OUT ON MY OWN AS MUCH AS I CAN. I am anti-inanimate insofar as they control my life. I cannot imagine willingly giving up control to robots in whatever form they service folks. I am an outlaw..a renegade...a holdout. I won't be seduced by the promised "ease" of turning over my autonomy and sovereignty to things that will do everything I should be doing for myself. Why do so many respond to becoming lazy sloths? The path of least resistance? How wishy washy whinya** is that? Sheesh! Thank you for your reply Shuhak. A BRAVE NEW WORLD redux. SIGH. This post was edited by RosieG at June 3, 2019 10:04 AM MDT

Facts finding is not only a daily occurrence for me but a very necessary one. I'll settle for nothing less. Getting facts isn't always easy though because there are many folks who try their darndest to cover them up. Mainly because it would mean dire consequences for them if they didn't. That being said, facts can still be found if one is willing to dig for them. And if one has the courage and fortitude to deal with them when they are found. Unfortunately, far too many have already taken the Blue Pill. :)

I assume you refer to Democrats not edd. Of course I disagree with thee resoundingly extensively consistently. Your sources of "truth" are Sean Hannity the sb prez and billybarr. That doesn't work for me. Different strokes ru. Clearly you are very happy with yourself and your beliefs. And you believe those who don't think exactly as you do are the liars and the con artists and the scammers and the betrayers. Thank you for your reply and Happy Monday to thy. Once again we disagree mightily. SIGH.  As it always was it always shall be. And the beat goes on. Discordant notes courtesy of John Cage some find beautiful. Others not so much. You assumed wrong! Where exactly did I refer to anyone or anything political? Had my answer been political in nature and had I directed my answer towards Democrats specifically or otherwise, I would have said so. You really should refrain from reading something into an answer that's not there. You embarrass yourself when you do that. :)
