Some insist they do not disapprove of a person. Only his/her words/deeds. What else is a person besides words/deeds? Thoughts?

You don't know what a person thinks unless he thinks out loud or tells you. So for all you know a person's entirety is words/deeds. How can one disapprove of them and not the person from whom they originated? Are words/deeds separate from the person saying and doing? Seriously?  Oh c'mon!  :

Our actions show others what we are really like.  Words can be manipulated (lies), but actions stem from the "heart".

To not disapprove of the "person" yet disapprove of their actions may be akin to saying I still "respect" (term used loosely) them as a human being.  I'm just guessing here.  Seems dumb to me too.

Me too Shuhak. Me too. It sounds ever so swell superficially as many other things do but when you actually  THINK it all out really how does one actually do that honestly? It's beyond me. Thank you for your reply! :)

I believe it is a natural extension of the Christian "mantra" of - hate the sin, but not the sinner.
Which is another thing about Christianity that I never understood.
I hate rape, but the rapist is an okay guy?  Sorry.  That doesn't make sense to me.  There wouldn't be rape without the rapist.

EXACTAMUNDO Walt! For the same reason I do not believe in "extreme unction" which as I understand it means that if on your deathbed you say you regret what you did you will be forgiven! So Hitler sez "sorry God" and the evil he did is washed away? I say bullsh**! Thank you for your reply Walt and Happy Tuesday! How is THAT fair? A life lived well and honorably versus a life of murder and evil are made comparable just because the evil person sez on his/her death bed"I'm really sorry"? I don't think so! :(
