With all due respect, the same holds true for females as well. Some can be courteous while other can be a ... (ahem).
It takes work to be a gentleman or a 'gentlewoman' (if you will). If one practices it enough, it can become second nature (although no one is 100% all the time). Some people try to "fake it". They will put on airs of "etiquette" (if you will) when it suits them (such as if they can get something out of it). This can make it appear that they vacillate between being a "gentleperson" and a jerk. Some People are moody (meaning their moods change on a whim). It's hard for a moody person to be a complete gentle person as their actions change with their mood.
Of course Shuhak. You will get no argument from me vis a vis gender equality with respect to manners or lack thereof. But I do find it interesting that you started off with that point. Surprising actually. That is what "typical" gives me and you are anything but. It reminds me of the "WHATABBOUTS" who will consistently respond to a specific question I ask about a specific person by whataboutting and never answer the question I asked. I find that extremely tiresome but it is all they know. They are limited I guess because they always follow the exact same pattern. You did answer the question I asked for which I thank you. I withdraw from engaging with folks when I'm "IN A MOOD". Why? Because I know I will not be at my best and mostly I don't want to share that me with others. I try to always be polite. I fail often. But I keep trying. Thank you for your reply. I have found you to ALWAYS be polite to me. And because of my experience with you I extrapolate beyond my personal knowledge and think you are always polite to everyone all the time. I could be wrong but I can only report on what I experience or observe. I only observe what comes to me since I never go out and about. I always stay in one place. Where I was put.
