Early Americans REJECTED the rule of the KING. Since our birth we have been free of despot dictator.Till now. How do we rid ourselves of IT?

What we would not put up with centuries ago we are now being crushed by....the man who would be KING. If we roll over and accept this KING thing what was the point of rejecting the past abomination and replacing it with the current version? How is that progress? How is that logical? Who would subscribe to it and why?

Actually ... the Founders originally wanted Washington to be "President for Life", and there were no term limits on Presidents until Congress got tired of FDR being elected.

I think most people don't care what type of government they have, as long as they have stability.
Sure, a democracy is better than a dictatorship.  But if the dictatorship is stable (you know what "the rules" are every day, and they don't change) and the democracy is constantly changing ... most people would choose the dictatorship.

I am talking about REJECTING THE RULE OF THE KING OF ENGLAND Walt. The Americans wanted NO PART OF HIM and if you read the Declaration of Independence you will note it is mostly a list of grievances AGAINST that king and all about him. Not complimentary at all. We fought a war to rid ourselves of that king. Must we fight another war to get rid of this would-be king? I dunno. Thank you for your reply.
