    I have more than once bw. It's when someone will dredge up some old something or another that is long-since dead and I say it because I have no interest in going where I've been before and from which I moved on. It always works. It shuts them up and we can then move to something new. Thank you for your reply! :)

    My concern, if someone were to dredge up the past, would be that perhaps they have unresolved issues or needs.
    I would always be open to listening and dialogue for as long as it takes until they've got the resolution they need.
    But of course the past has treasures in it too - and they can be well worth mining.

    Unless the past can be divorced from the future, it is still present.

    One has to heal sufficiently before one can move on---broken legs and brain injuries take a long time to heal, and there is no guarantee that you can be as functional as you once were.
