    Something's Gotta Give

    Somethings gotta give
    Somethings gotta give
    Somethings gotta give
When an irresistible force such as you
Meets and old immovable object like me
You can bet as sure as you live
Something's gotta give, something's gotta give
    Something's gotta give
When an irrepressible smile such as yours
Warms an old implacable heart such as mine
Don't say no because I insist
    Somewhere, somehow
    Someone's gonna be kissed
So on guard who knows what the fates have in store
    From their vast mysterious sky?
I'll try hard ignoring those lips I adore
But how long can anyone try?
Fight, fight, fight, fight, fight it with all of our might
Chances are some heavenly star spangled night
We'll find out as sure as we live
Something's gotta give, something's gotta give
    Something's gotta give
Fight, fight, fight it with all of our might
Chances are some heavenly star spangled night
We'll find out as sure as we live
Something's gotta give, something's gotta give
    Something's gotta give
    Something's gotta, something's gotta give

    Arguing, no.  Discussing, yes.

Some people enjoy discussing subjects (rationally).  In fact, it's a good way for both parties to learn - if one keeps an open mind.

Arguing, however, doesn't get anyone anywhere.  When a discussion turns into an argument, it means that one or both parties have closed their minds.
When discussing online, one must also remember that it is impossible to win an internet argument.  If an internet discussion turns into an argument, there can be no "winner" - no matter who's actually right or wrong.

If it is accusatory in nature vitriolic insulting and hostile I agree with thee. Political arguing is very often built on dismissive arrogant discourse. Not really pleasant at all.  But lawyers present their ARGUMENTS in court. Their reasoning of how they reached a conclusion. It is or can be a presentation of how you arrived at a position. It can be hostile-free and not remotely accusatory. Those are the kinds of "arguements" I enjoy and most learn from. Thank you for your thoughtful reply Shuhak. Here's a couple of dictionary definitions that reflect what I mean m'dear.

A discussion involving varying points of view; debate
    A process of reasoning
A statement, reason or fact for or against a point
