Once upon a time the US was a leader others could depend upon. Now other countries are smarter/more depedable/predictable. Progress right?,

That is the way things are supposed to be are they not? Smarter more dependable predictable ALWAYS trumps dumber erratic loose cannony. Evolution usually means everything gets better. But while some evolve others devolve and slip away into antiquity history used to be and become  mere footnotes..

The USA used to be better than it is now. Other countries are eclipsing us rapidly in technology, brainpower climate change , leadership and survival. We done got left behind. Get over it y'all!  Ya got what you voted for. Deal with it! :(

    I don't know if we were, though.
    When you start looking at the truth of history, you find America did a lot of "false flag" operations to explain getting involved where we shouldn't.
    We still don't fully admit it, in many instances.
    If you ask most Americans, they have no clue why so many nations in Central and South America "hate" us.
    Of course those people come here - because living here is still better than the living conditions there.
    But if we hadn't interfered down there at the request of banks and landowners - would things have turned out better for the average person there?

    Didn't we used to have solid alliances with  many nations? Didn't we enter into agreements and keep our end of the bargain? Didn't we used to confer with our allies and share information and form a united front against "the enemy" countries? Now our allies are being dissed insulted attacked. Now we have pulled out of many alliances. Now we side with the bad guys consistently and badmouth the good guys. We are the least dependable least visionary least forward-thinking least democratic of all the "civilized" countries. Which other "civilized" country has a loony tunes sb prez such as ours? I'm not saying we were perfect angels Walt with pure motives always doing the right thing because we have some terrible stains in our past that will never be washed away. But we were "BETTER" by far then than we are now. Don'tcha think? Thank you for your thoughtful reply and Happy Tuesday. There was a time when the words on the Statue of Liberty were true.
