Does equal = equal? Women's rights?

Women want to get equal pay for equal work. What don't people get about this? Maybe they don't understand what "equal" means!

The women just can't believe how hard equal work is!

When young men can earn a million bux before age 24 just by dancing in scanty clothing, then we can discuss "equal pay for equal work".

Can you imagine a male getting paid to do this?

McDonald's doesn't pay their female employees as much as they pay their male employees? Who knew? Or maybe we're coming up a bit short on that "equal work" side too; equal job description does NOT mean equal effort.

But if you're REALLY convinced that your statement is true perhaps you can give some real world examples as to what you're talking about? I mean other than the White House. It's well known that they're guilty of that transgression.

I don't know any women who don't get paid the same as the men who do the same job.

They have equal pay for equal work. For example, rank for rank they earn the same as men in the Armed Forces.

Even your lib Huffington Post, based on its sourced findings, found that up to 94% of the gender pay gap (78 cents to the dollar by federal data) could be explained by women entering different jobs, different industries, etc.

I have no problem with that, I never did and I still don't get it why some people still do.

    Boy, isn't that the truth!

One of my kids bought into that BS, the whole 9-yards. Even graduated with a degree in Women's Studies. Graduated and ran face first straight into that little thing called "reality". Almost broke her nose. Seems that she had become accustomed to three "squares" a day and a roof over her head. No work for frivolous degrees like Women's Studies. (She's much better now though; figured it out pretty fast and is working on her MS in Nursing after getting her BS in Nursing . . . )

I tried to dumb down my response so that you might understand. It appears I didn't go far enough . . .

See if this one makes more sense to you:

Right now, only companies can decide what jobs are worth. There is no law to protect women's wages.
