We all have dreams that we give up on at some point. Have Y'ALL GIVEN UP ON THE DREAM OF A WALL?

How come you never mention it any longer? Was it always a pipe dream a fantasy a thing that could never be or is it stilll alive and will survive? Why d'ya think so?

I was not, and am not, a wall enthusiast.  People who want to get here will overcome any obstacle.  I would rather see the money it would take to build the wall used for infrastructure.  The highways and roads I travel get worse by the season.  Traffic on one road slows to a crawl because of all the potholes across all three lanes.  The NJ Turnpike and the PA Turnpike were pristine roads and are no longer so.

The EGO wall is a bogus fake news enemy of the people thing. Never gonna happen. But I don 't hear the robotic automatic crowds that keep attending the SAME RALLY shout out "MEXICO WILL PAY  FOR THE WALL"! I don't hear the extremely stable genius criminal corrupt prez ask WHO WILL PAY FOR THE WALL Why not I wonder? Why not? Thank you for your reply L!  :)

Because he has other issues to scream about - like Hillary and Obama. :)

Isn't that the weirdest thing? He is stuck in 2015/2016 and can't seem to move forward. Even worse his cheering crowds seem to adore his repetitive static unchanging sales pitch. It is such an odd phenomenon. I don't know if they have to pay to attend these rallies but they have to make an effort and give time to getting there. I wonder how far some drive to go and sit among others of their ilk to hear the exact same words delivered in the exact same way by the exact same headliner? They do not seem to tire of it. As if  they are starving and banding together to get nourishment from one another and the headliner so they can carry on until the next rally! Thank you for your reply L! :)

I suppose the same thing happens when there's a rally for most any other politician.  Elizabeth Warren and Bernie Sanders seem to draw quite the crowds.  I would have voted for Sanders had he run against Trump, but he is a little too far left for me.  NBC News has been running a series every night with a different candidate asking them what is their big idea.  I can't recall who it was, it was a woman, and her big idea was to give every person a $1,000 a month stipend for doing absolutely nothing.  If you want $1,000 a month, go out and get a job.  I'm not working so you can sit on your rear end and reap MY rewards.

((hugs)) "...a little too far left for me" too! You know I don't want any old white man. Period. BAD ROSIE but that's how I feel. Right now I kinda like Kamala Harris, a Californian and Mayor Pete too! I do like Elizabeth Warren as well but there are edges of stridency in her speeches that put me off. Having a  tax on the wealthy? Why not fix it so they pay the taxes they should pay closing the enormous loopholes and then let it go at that? We will see how the Dems do in the debates although the number of them will make it hard to really give any of them sufficient time. It's a start. Here's what worries me bigly and I think the sb prez will do. Try to take away all attention from the debates by doing something so outrageous they will be ignored and he will take the spotlight once again. He can't help it. What that thing will be each night I don't know but I put nothing too low for him to do or too disastrous to opt for. Thank you for your reply L! :) This post was edited by RosieG at June 23, 2019 6:48 AM MDT

I was mistaken that it was a woman who wanted to give money away - it was Andrew Yang.

I agree on closing the loopholes, but her wealth tax would be 2% for those making over $50 millionChump change for them.

There really ought to be a law that prevents people from campaigning more than 15 months before an election.  We listen to this nonsense from the moment they're sworn in and I, for one, am sick of it.

I'd like to hear EVERYONE who is running L. I haven't. Only the so-called frontrunners. It's very early but I think to be fair each candidate should be given FREE air time...say 30 minutes. To present his/her plan. Tell us what kind of prez he/she will be by listing the goals and agenda. That gives them each the same chance to get the same amount of attention. Then the debates can begin and questions asked and engaging with one another. Don't you think that would be fairer than what is happening now? I would listen to each one. Thank you for your reply LL! :)

Yes, I agree that would be most fair, but in all honesty, I don't think it would take 30 minutes to put forth their platform - at least it shouldn't.  So, you're talking 30 minutes for them to say their piece and then another 30 minutes to be questioned times 23 candidates, most of which don't have a snowball's chance in he!!.  Besides you, who's going to spend that much time listening to them?
