How WARM are those tin foil "blankets" the kennel cage kids are given to "keep warm"? Any of you ever use one?

    My understanding is that those blankets radiate back body warmth.  I believe astronauts use them.  they may not give the comfort a regular blanket may give, but they serve the purpose.

    They look like rolled out REYNOLDS WRAP. Astronauts are grownups. Children need things grownups don't need. A roll of Reynold wrap to keep them warm is not one of them. I appreciate the info L. It just disgusts me to he** and back. That these little kids are FORCED to lie on the floor on mats/mattresses with a roll of opened tin foil to keep them warm is beyond evil. And so terribly terribly heartbreaking. Thank you for your reply sweetie! :)

    If we ever had L you can be certain it was one of the first things the sb prez closed down. He is inhuman so anything human is foreign to him. Thank you for your reply and Happy Sunday to you. Summer has kicked in and our 70's arenow high 80's and 90's. Triple digits are just around the corner. How long till Autumn comes back? "Autumn in New York"! Sigh!  :)

    That's very good sweetie. A few years ago we had THREE WEEKS in a row of tirple digit temps! It was intolerable but well we survived! Happy Monday L! :)

    Me to neither! Double ugh. A couple of years ago our landlord had a brand new air conditioner installed! It's heavenly. More efficient too! Thank you for your reply and thanks for the HM my friend! :)

    I got new Ac/Cs a couple of years ago and they are much more efficient than what I had.

    Actually, they're quite good. They can save lives in freezing conditions because they trap the body's own heat and reflect it back. However, they offer no padding, no extra insulation, and they tear easily. I carry several in my van for first aid in case of an accident.

    Thank you for your thoughtful and helpful reply bw. I had never heard of them. Knew nothing about them. So as a temporary first-aid short-term thingy they are useful to have on hand. But covering little kids? At least with a blanket you feel some comfort. A shiny piece of "paper" I think is not comforting. But I have never had one over me so I do not speak from experience. Imagine bringing home your baby from the hospital wrapped in that? Happy Sunday! :)

    And they get to sleep on a concrete floor.  

    I hear there is no heat.  That is like sleeping on cold rock.  So, what good does ANY blanket do under those circumstances.  

    This foil blanket is a disgrace.
