How wouldja like to put your Debit Card into the machine and have the card say "there is insufficient funds to cover this charge"? Why?
Or even better tell you what your balance will be after that transaction? Talking chips are hip, right? Why not lay your entire life out there for everyone within earshot to enjoy?
I do nothing financial online m2c. But about a talking debit card? Do you have a GPS? How about Alexa? Answering Machine? You have disembodied computer voices giving you feedback and info 24/7. Why not a talking debit card? A talking credit card would give your remaining balance, what you owed, and your credit rating every time you used. Loud and clear so everyone could hear. Maybe it's already here on deck waiting to get to bat! Thank you for your reply and Happy Sunday to thy! :)

I can't stand hearing Siri ("I found this on the web..."). So I sure don't want some card talking to me!
While a talking card may be good for those who are visually impaired, it's just another lazy annoyance for the rest of us. But then again, since they no longer teach finances in school (how to maintain a budget, how to "balance a checkbook", how to count out change), maybe that voice is the only way people will know when they've run out of money.
Of course, people no longer care if others hear about their finances, problems or ailments. They proudly broadcast them in the streets for all to hear. It's called talking on a cellphone - and they do it everywhere! You cant even take a walk in the woods anymore without hearing some jack*** yapping on their phone. ("Alexa, read my bank password back to me".)

Folks today are wired weird Sharon. Not all of them of course but enough of them to get noticed. I think they're stuck in the muck. Thank you for your thoughtful reply.
