  • The song isn't about speed. The little yellow pill was  meprobamate.  Miltown.

What the heck is THAT?    You are right.  It was a little yellow pill.  I just assumed it was an upper.

  • It was used to treat anxiety and depression under the false assumption it was safer than barbiturates and while unrelated, worked on many of the same receptor binding sites as them with strong effects on thalamus and  on the GABA receptors but with much less sedation. Rarely used and r3placed with benzodiazepines.

I thought it was referring to diazepam (valium) "...little yellow pill..." Today...either what you are using or the smokeable variety.

I awarded you because you were the only one so far that answered the two parts of this question.  Probably because you were a teacher and you understand tests and quizzes.

  • Nope, it was Milltown, another yellow anxyolytic pill .  Marketed in 1950s and early 60s as a safer alternative to barbiturates but replaced by benzodiazepines like valium.

I think now a days mothers little helper is E - eBay. In the 80's I worked in a auto plant and started suffering from depression (or something like that). The doctor gave me valium - I didn't like it and when I told him I didn't want another prescription he argued with me and kept asking me if I was sure I didn't want more. I bet it wasn't my health he cared about it was getting a kick back from the prescription he wrote. Cheers!

I wonder how many people this pig killed or worse, addicted to the point that they wished they were dead.

If he were here, he'd be a part of Trump's base.  Make America slaves again.

It reeks of the Twilight Zone.  Shades of Stepford Wives too.

I especially like the "energy radiating from "mom"
