Any of you ever call to find out why you have not received a timely bill? Or do you just let the folks you owe worry about that?

Haven't received our electric bill. Called to find out why. They are all screwed up and my last bill for the period end 5/31 was paid and the check received by 6/13! Today is 7/5 so I called. Guess what? I OWE NOTHING NOW and they won't know for sure until MAYBE July 25! So I'll get a humongous electric bill for who knows how long a time? Two months? Three months? Sheesh. So do you worry about stuff like that?

Yes.  Because whether I get it or not, it's my fault if its not paid on time and they will add penaltis..

That's happen with my utility bill before.  At least when it's their problem they don't add finance charges or threaten to shut off your utilities.
Estimate what you think you'll owe (going on past bills and such), write that amount off of your bank account (as if you paid it), but don't take it out.  that way, come next month, you'll have the money available to pay it.  Otherwise you may end up spending the money and not have it when the bill finally comes.

Thank you for your thoughtful and helpful reply Shuhak. Just what I need. Not  be able to pay the ELECTRIC bill in the summer! Every morning I Google "Hemet Weather" and get an 8-day forecast for Jim. Next Thursday triple digits begin. So word to the wise. Plan prepare. Don't be caught short. Happy Saturday. Didja feel  7.1 earthquake last night out 8:15pm? Another rolling fairly lengthy one. SIGH. If it's not one thing it's another!

    I've never contacted them.
The one time my bill got lost in the mail, I did challenge them on the late fee.  (It was for the electric company)
I told them I didn't receive the bill, and they apologized and removed the late fee.

NEVER?  I contacted our Cable company a couple of months ago because we hadn't received a bill. They said they were late in getting them out so they hadn't been mailed yet. Through the years I've probably called a dozen or more places. I'm anal about paying what I owe Walt. I CAN'T STAND OWING MONEY and my credit rating is very important to me. You have NEVER called? Wow. Well we are wired differently that's for sure. Thank you for your reply and Happy Saturday! :)

HOW do you know unless you have the bill? Gas and electric are not the same every month the way a cable bill or telephone may be.  So? HOW DO YOU KNOW m2c? HOW?

I know what the run on average. So if I do not see it, I send that at least. My electric is the  only one that is not the same monthly. But I send the same monthly normally I run a credit.
