Wow.  That was a litany of history.

I think the plane crash that broke my heart the most was probably Ricky Nelson.

He was such a doll.  My two best friends went to Mexico in the late 60's when all the hippies were being created.  Ricky and I and my friends were all part of that movement.  I watched the GORGEOUS Ricky Nelson from TV fame grow into a HIPPIE that played with the Beatles and was very much respected as a talented musician by all the greats that I admired.

My two friends went to Mexico and just happened to be in the same small restaurant as Ricky and Chris, his wife.  They were so happy to introduce themselves and invite my two friends to eat with them.  CAN YOU BEAT THAT FOR TOTAL GRACE AND STYLE?   My friends said they were both so kind and warm and inviting and down to earth.  So, I was so saddened to hear of his YOUNG death.  Kind of like John Kennedy Jr.  That REALLY KILLED ME too.

I totally forgot about JfK jr. Sharon. It saddened me a great deal. When JFK was assassinated I mourned for weeks. He my first president. The first one I was old enough to vote for. I got permission from my boss to bring in my portable TV set so we could all watch the funeral. I will never forget JFK Jr saluting as the casket drove by. Or Jackie in her black veil. When Robert was assassinated I mourned.  I followed Ricky from the show he and his folks and brother David had on TV for years. He grew up on that show. He became  rock star during that show. He always was a favorite of mine. Thank you for your reply.

Hmmmm ... I don't personally know anybody that died in a plane accident.
And I don't really follow any celebrities - so I'm not invested enough to care how or when they die.
Even when hundreds of people die in a airliner accident, to me it's less about those who died than what caused it.

I would say that means you remain aloof from the slings and arrows of life Walt. Nothing wrong with that. Your emotions are never what drive you.  And you are not invested enough in anyone to care how or when they die. That is a pretty strong statement. I an the polar opposite of you. I mourn the loss of people I didn't know but admired. It is who I am.  I'm sure your life is much less filled with sorrow for others than mine. It isn't  a choice. SIGH. Perhaps it is a gender thing. I will ask. Thank you for your reply.
