You can never "make amends" for the attempted extermination of an entire people. But why not acknowledge it and be respectful?

However impossible the task you should acknowledge it by making some attempt at reparations. Money isn't going to wipe out the tragedy. But maybe money might help some of the descendants to live a better life. Why is that so wrong?
