Permanent funding is now approved for 9/11 first responders. thanks to the dogged devotion of Jon Stewart. Where were the pols?

What the he** were they thinking by not doing this on their own YEARS AGO? Jon SHAMED THEM and they are now tainted forever as being a bunch of schlumps who had to be GOADED AND SHAMED to do something they should have done many years ago. SIGH.

    We have MOVIE STARS and Celebreties doing what CONGRESS DOES NOT GET OFF THEIR BUTTS to do.

    This is what it has COME to?  Celebrities have to give up their lives in order to get justice? 

    THIS IS A SAD STATE OF NO POLITICS AT ALL.  WHY HAVE THESE LOSERS SITTING IN SEATS DOING NOTHING AT ALL?

    And the FEW who do act are stifled by the many who do nothing.

    why should they do their jobs?  They only want money and power (prestige).  Except for arguing they seem to care little about anything else.

    (However, Jon did a great job at shaming them!)

    I wonder if you realize what a great question that is Shuhak? "Why should they do their jobs?" Why should they? They get paid whether they do or don't do so why do? I never thought about it from that angle. Lots of those folks who aren't dead yet have terrible health problems from inhaling whatever was in the air day after day after day cleaning up the enormous rubble. So to take care of whatever health problems they had BECAUSE THEY DID THEIR JOBS seems to me to be the least we could do. Some gave their lives. Many lost their health. It should have been immediate legislation for their LIFETIME...in other words FOREVER until they died. I wonder how many people would choose to do their jobs if they got paid either way?
