     Republicans joyfully impeached Clinton for his lying about a CONSENSUAL SEX RELATIONSHIP. Dems have so much more fodder and they refuse. I don't get it. Thank you for your reply m2c.

    He lied under oath in court. There was also obstruction and other charges. 

    Clinton was being investigated by an Independent Counsel Ken Start starting 1994. Starr was charged with investigating Bill and Hillary Clinton's pre-presidency financial dealings with the Whitewater Land Company,[1]Ken Starr, with the approval of Attorney General Janet Reno, conducted a wide-ranging investigation of alleged abuses including the firing of White House travel agents, the alleged misuse of FBI files, and Clinton's conduct while he was a defendant in a sexual harassment lawsuit filed by a former Arkansas state government employee, Paula Jones. 

    It was perjury and obstruction during the Jones trial that he was impeached for. Not the affair with the intern Monica Lewinsky who did not even get the job until a year into the Starr investigation. This post was edited by my2cents at July 16, 2019 8:42 AM MDT
