The day is already arriving when testing can be done on human stem cells without the need for animals.
While curing every disease is desirable for the quality of life - how great is that quality going to be as the planet becomes increasingly overpopulated?
Every lengthening of lifespan needs to be counter-balanced by giving birth to fewer children.
We will go through an extended phase when 25% of the population will be too old to care for themselves.
That will have an economic effect due to the number needed to care for the aged.
Not saying it shouldn't happen, but the repercussions are huge.
Test on humans

That is already being done. They are called "clinical trials" and I was involved in one years ago having to do with a bone-building medication to mitigate the effects of bone loss in those with osteoporosis. It was called Calcitonin and the trials took two years and were done at Loma Linda Hospital in Loma Linda, California. You have to sign a wiaver when you participate in a clinical trial absolving them of anything that should occur. You take all the risk and gamble that the trial will not be harmful . It turns out I was among those in the control group being given a placebo so my bone strength diminished over the two years I participated and as a result had to takeĀ Fosamax for many years. Thank you for your reply BABB and Happy Tuesday to thee.
