I never thought that I would live in a country that would elect a dolt like Trump as its president. He has set the bar so low that it would be almost impossible to find someone less qualified. Happy Friday. :)
I totally and completely agree with thee L 100%. I never did think that either. I wonder what our parents would have thought of him? Mine came from the Old Country to escape the Armenian Genocide at the hands of the Turks. America was the golden ticket to many. They very proudly became naturalized citizens and there were no better or PROUDER AMERICAN citizens anywhere than my parents. To see what this country's voters elected is beyond shocking. SIGH. Thank you for your reply sweetie and thanks for the Happy Friday! :)

Millions of us shudder at what our folks would have thought of this abomination. In a way I'm glad they will never know how degraded their America has become under the chokehold of the trump. Thank you for your reply L and Happy Saturday! :)
Once again, Trump is but the logical result of what has been happening in America for decades. The Republicans and Democrats have been attacking anybody who they don't agree with. The media has been doing the same, and acting as the proxy for the parties. A Trump-esque Presidency was to be expected, given the growing influence of the internet and social media.
Not to mention our society's growing tendency to make excuses for those who use violence against their opponents, rather than punish such people. IMO, the relationship is direct and obvious.
You may be unaware of it but you sound very much like "there are good people on both sides". What the trump said about the white nationalist racists who marched at Charlottesvilles chanting "the jews will not replace us". You say both trump folks and Dems are the same. SIGH. So you equate the 8 years of President Obama to what the trump has done is doing will do. No difference. Different strokes Walt. I vehemently disagree with thee. So what right?
I have only been paying attention to our politics since the 1980s, and I have seen the growing divide between the parties and their supporters. Including the increasingly divisive language and increasing media outright support of whichever party they support. For the last 20 years, the language has grown in vehemence from BOTH sides ... along with an increase in actual physical violence.
